Why Should You Add Turmeric To Your Bone Broth?

What is bone broth?

Bone broth is created from boiling down bones and the connective tissue from animals, which creates a rich nutrient stock that can be ingested as a health drink on its own or added to recipes like homemade soup!

How do you make bone broth?

Next time you’re cooking up a rotisserie chicken, venison steaks, lamb chops, or anything related, save the bones! The rest is simple. 

In a large pot, add about 2-4 pounds of bones, a gallon of water, and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. For an additional health kick, throw in a couple of 2-inch turmeric roots, or 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Season with salt and pepper. Feel free to add tasty ingredients, herbs, and spices like ginger, garlic, lemon, onions, carrots, thyme, etc. 

Bring the ingredients to a boil, reduce and simmer for up to 24 hours. Let it cool, strain the liquid into a pitcher or storage container. Enjoy!
